Catch me if you can!

We have had quite a busy and eventful New Year! E is in the process of getting over a bad cold and ear infection which he had to get antibiotics for. But, he took his medicine like a champ and despite feeling pretty crummy...has been in a decent mood.

His little nub of a tooth has come all the way in! I do enjoy the toothy grin, but I will kind of miss the old man/gummy smile.

He is definitely keeping me busy. He has gone from a slow, hesitant "push up" scoot...to a "catch me if you can" crawl. He is a quick little thing. He has also figured out how to pull up on everything (which he finds absolutely hilarious and entertaining). Nothing is safe anymore....which I found out the hard way by leaving my computer sitting up on the chair. We had to lower the crib because he was trying to be sneaky and pull stuff off his changing table. I caught him in the act and took a picture. He can also sit himself up from a lying down position.

I was so excited for him to finally get to this point...and now that he is....I had NO idea what I was getting myself into.

Another thing I never knew about kids....they can have every toy imaginable in front of them, but all they want to do is go after cords, strings, electrical outlets, shelves and stairs. YIKES! We have started the whole baby proofing process...but until we finish, we just play in the play room.

I think he is enjoying his little bible study class he goes to on Wednesdays. He has about 8 or so other babies to play with and the teachers sing them songs, teach them their bible study lesson (not that they understand it quite yet) as well as sign language. So, I am excited for him to start getting it down so he can give us an idea of what he wants.

Everything is 'uh', 'eh', grunting, or 'da da'. He doesn't associate 'da da' with Michael yet, but he says it. Maybe 'ma ma' is next?

He loves his rubber ducky and finger goods. The doctor said he can start trying most soft table foods (although he prefers his baby cereal, yogurt pieces and jarred food).

February 2nd the little man will be 8 months! Can you believe it?
